So there are three things you need to be a LEGIT (do people still say that?) modeling agency.
1) a local business license (CHECK!) and 2) a Surety Bond (Check!!). A Surety Bond is basically. . .clearing throat.... A surety bond is a promise to pay one party (the obligee) a certain amount if a second party (the principal) fails to meet some obligation, such as fulfilling the terms of a contract. The surety bond protects the obligee against losses resulting from the principal's failure to meet the obligation. (Thanks wikipedia) :).
Anyway it's a requirement from the state that a true talent agency (that's me), be "bonded" and now I am!! The last step, and step number 3, is to get a state license. Mine is currently sitting in a really big stack up in Sacramento, and I can't wait to get my official license! I called them, because I am a pest, and they said they were about 30 days out! So let the count down begin!! :). . . If I am being totally honest they actually said they were 45-90 days out, but that was two weeks ago, and the glass is always half full!! :)
Isn't there a count down widget, or is that only myspace! Do you guys remember myspace? :)
